As a result of the efforts of this committee, aided by an appropriation of one thousand dollars from the town, and the contributions of a number of citizens, the celebration became a reality, and a most pronounced success. The decorations were most elaborate, surpassing any ever seen in this State before. The celebration was arranged into two days.
