With over 800 pages, it identifies 216 different titles, representing nearly 1,000 editions, and is accompanied by over 300 colour photographs. It is primarily a bibliographic study, but also includes other topics such as the evolution of conjuring book production and bindings in the nineteenth century, and a brief history of notable conjuring performers.
