Publisher's Synopsis
A child who already knows all their letter sounds will begin to learn how to blend three-letter words(CVC words: consonant-vowel-consonant). This is the point where they are required to use their knowledge of the individual sounds of each letter and blend these letter sounds together, so they are saying the whole word and not three individual sounds. Instead of relying primarily on repetitive drill and practice, we can integrate the phonics learning process with carefully written stories. Children typically find working in context of a story more meaningful and engaging.
