Publisher's Synopsis
Otto Poschacher was born in Austria in 1915. In the early 1980s he wrote his memoirs spanning the first 30 years of his life, from his early childhood to the aftermath of the Second World War.
The books were written primarily as a keepsake for the generations of his family which followed him, but the highly intimate style of his writing provides a unique and alternative insight into a life lived during one of the most widely studied periods in history.
The first volume details Otto's peripatetic childhood, moving between various relatives and foster guardians before his stepfather draws him into involvement with National Socialists in Austria in the early 30's.
