Publisher's Synopsis

Aleksander Brodsky is the author of the autobiographical book "40+40". This is the true story about his childhood, his educational years in a Soviet school, the Theatrical Institute of Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), of his work in television and movie studios, his travels around the USSR for his work in movies, and his time as a short documentary script writer. This book covers his 40 years of life in Russia and 40 years of his life in the United States where he finally settled with his family in 1977. Many of the author's traveling stories are written with humor and fierce sense of wit. Part of this book is dedicated to the famous French writer Romain Gary, who was born in Russia and authored more than 30 novels. Gary's Russian roots were almost always the subject and hero of his books. "40+40" is brilliantly designed with many colored and black & white photos.
