This is a classified index of the contents of the school review during the past ten years. It has been called a bib liography because it is more than an index. It is discrimi nating and to a certain degree descriptive, in that the arrangement is based on internal rather than external resemblance. The scheme of arrangement has been devised that it may be easily usable by those engaged in educational work. It makes no pre tension except to convenience. It is simple and needs no expla nation'. The editorial notes are included as well as the articles. Generally these notes, when of sufficient importance, are followed by the editor's name, 8. G. (c. H. Thurber), (george H. Locke). The difficulties, deficiencies, and perplexities of the ordinary index have suggested this work and this arrangement, and if it is of any aid to educational workers the feeling of indebtedness should be directed toward Mr. Harvey Carr, fellow in Education, as well as toward the editor.
