Here in Kent the garden of England we have the symbol of the Invicta a rampant white stallion whilst the magic of the North Downs can as a nurturing Mare its tail in Surrey, its body wrapping itself around the Weald of Kent and its head on the Isle of Thanet to the streams, rivers, estuaries and the sea shore those liminal places from the North Kent marshes to the 'Desert' of Dungerness and the Romney marshes but these are for another time for the 'garden' of England is a more recent innovation with its fields and hedgerows speaking more of the domestic and the hearth fire. Not that more primitive sensation of walking through the woods and forest or by the seashore, for it is time we once again reconnect to that which has been lost within the modern craft, for us to appreciate and understand the land, feel a part of it, so allow it to once again release its secrets.
