With the passage of the Business Act in 1875, and the act for the formation of safe-deposit companies, passed the same year, it became possible to organize a corporation under the general laws for any purpose except that of transacting the business of trust companies. This omission was sup plied in 1887 and a corporation may now be formed under the general laws for the purpose of carrying on any lawful business.
