Publisher's Synopsis
I should have found another way, but Derreck made it sound so easy.... I told him we were having trouble making our house payments. When I told him how much we needed, he laughed.
'I will make that in a couple of days. Look, ' he said. 'I can hook you up with my source.'
My brother Robin's eyes got big, and he looked at me. I could tell he wanted nothing to do with it. I told Derrick we didn't want to be drug dealers. Derreck laughed again.
'You don't have to do it as a living. Just do it long enough to get you on your feet. Then, Robin can get back in trade school and you can open your own tire shop.'
I thought about it and asked how it worked. Robin poked me in the ribs. I knew he wanted to leave, but I kept asking questions.
