On an Outward Bound experience, Perce and Andy discover Odysseus washed up on the beach. Horrified at meeting yet another mythical character, they try to get him to go home, but he is entranced by the wonders of the twentieth century. Trouble strikes when Odysseus finds a group - the Sirens - playing on the pier and has to run for his life from revenge-crazed Circe, who can turn people into pigs. The crackling climax involves a chase in the funfair, kids being changed into pigs and Odysseus finally finding his way home.
