Jake Hughes and his wife Emily are on holiday in England enjoying the world's second most popular walk. A chance meeting catapults a series of events beginning with the hit and run killing of Paul Jennings twenty-three years earlier. Jake meets DI Jonty Ball and between them slowly expose a UK crime family that began in the 1920's New York prohibition era to a present-day British crime family, who have operated undetected for sixty years building a leading worldwide underworld business.
