Russell Conwell was an American Baptist minister, lawyer, and writer. Conwell is best remembered for being the founder of Temple University in Philadelphia and for his influential speech Acres of Diamonds. Conwell delivered the speech in 1901 in hopes of raising money for Temple University. The speech concentrates on the importance of generosity and ideas and how it all relates to our success throughout life.
