Leaving to the wisdom of the Legislature, matters over which we have no control, permit me to call your atten tion to some subjects relating to the practice of our pro fession, which the last few years have brought into no tice It is not my intention, on the present occasion, to enumerate the several improvements, which have of late years been made in the practice of physic and surgery; for, even if I possessed the ability to do so, the limits to which I am restricted, would not permit me.
