It is a travelogue through the experiences the players and fans of all 16 clubs, and the many events which combined to make 1997 such a tight and memorable season, which ultimately ended with the Adelaide Crows winning the premiership. The authors also offer a view of the Collingwood Club, and of what it is like to be part of the AFL's premiership high-flyers, and then one of the season's biggest disappointments.
