Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Assisted Suicide in the United States: Hearing Before the Subcommittee on the Constitution of the Committee on the Judiciary, House of Representatives, One Hundred Fourth Congress, Second Session, April 29, 1996
There is a concern that patients without families or friends or those that come from socially disadvantaged groups will, in fact, be significantly hurt by such legislation. In the current climate with out universal access to care, such laws place the dying, who are our most vulnerable citizens, at a disadvantage. There needs to be an easier way to limit excessive health care cost.
