The Rev. David Banting has written: "And in every generation the Church needs to be renewed by the Spirit of God and reformed by the Word of God -- ecclesia semper reformanda." Orthos Booklet 23) It is for the renewal and reformation of the Church in our generation that these sermons were first delivered and are now being published. It is not enough for us to rejoice in our glorious heritage. We must also confront the issues of our own time and proclaim the Gospel today. It is my hope that my effort will encourage others to share with us in proclaiming the "knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ." (II Cor. 4:6) This collection of sermons, God-willing, will enable you to do just that.
