Publisher's Synopsis

Written in January 2013 for Atlanta Opera's 24-Hour Opera Project by Composer, Evan Mack and Librettist, Wm. Samuel Bradford. The work was conceived, written, and composed in 12-hours, followed by 12 hours of rehearsal and a performance for a live audience, in person and streaming online. Each composer and librettist were paired randomly assigned a stage prop, and wrote on the theme "Convincing Confession." Beach and Moan won audience favorite. Synopsis: A women wants to spend a relaxing day at the beach. Two men see her and try to woo her under false pretense. Hilarity ensues. Both get rejected and vow to be better people and better towards one another. Their truce is fleeting and they fight. The battle spills into the ocean, they cry for help, and the women has to choose which one to save. This opera is about the extent to which all love is selfish love, and how we lie to one another and ourselves to achieve it.
