Bearded dragons, sometimes known as "beardies," are small lizards native to Australia. They have a long, thick tail and a spiky, beard-like collar around their neck, and their hue ranges from pale tan to brown. Even for novice reptile keepers, they have fairly complicated nutritional and environmental needs, hence they are typically regarded good pets. Bearded dragons require specialized equipment and a significant amount of time to care for. They are, however, social and simple to tame, and they exhibit a variety of unique behaviors that make them fascinating to observe.
