Publisher's Synopsis
A few years after moving back to Newark, New Jersey, the city that he was born in, from San Antonio, Texas, with his mother, brother, and stepfather, Zakee began his criminal career as a smalltime car thief and burglar. Yet, the little money he made from those crimes wasn't enough for him; and for that reason alone, he left the puny lifestyle of stealing cars behind him to sell weed for Stuffy, the neighborhood weed dealer.
However, after making just enough money to start hustling on his own, Zakee talked Sex, a friend of his, into giving him his allowance to add to what he had already saved up.
Then, not long after getting his own product, Zakee got stuck up for everything he had, and by an unknown, hulky gun toting bandit.
After being robbed, Zakee fell back on his burglary talents, but this time with a plan that would bring him and Sex more money than they had lost when Zakee got robbed for his stash.
During the recovery of his loss and after getting back on board, Zakee found himself indebted to a very well-connected Jamaican who only had concerns in life for his family, money, and those who had loyalty, honor, and respect for the illicit game they played.
Will Zakee and his crew become casualties of the streets just as many others before them, or will they grow up to be kingpins?
