Publisher's Synopsis
Bernard, late for school as always, bumps into old Mrs Graham and is lent an old-fashioned fob watch which can make time stand still. This helps him get to school on time and later to stop time to help with maths tests, scoring goals and catching trains. The only problem is that 'frozen time' must be repaid in real time so the watch can't be used too much in a day - this would result in the user falling unconscious. When Mrs Graham becomes ill, her nephew visits Bernard to ask for the watch back. Bernard knows he's been tricked when the watch is used to rob a bank. The watch is recovered as the nephew is lying unconscious and Bernard and his friend stop time and get the money back to the bank. Bernard is given the watch as a reward.
