The most famous North American train robber is Bill Miner, a.k.a. the gentleman train robber. How does a notorious thief manage to escape from prison and hide-out unrecognized under an assumed name? What if Bill Miner had an illegitimate child who comes forward to reveal a dark family secret many years later? What if his daughter is able to prove her story before she succumbs to her illness? All roads lead to the Coldwater Hotel in Merritt, British Columbia, Canada to find out what is hidden in the dome on top of the hotel that is able to prove the family secret? The novel is a hypothetical account of Bill Miner's life as an outlaw on the run. The book has two time lines: the present, May, 1999 and the past period August 1907 to September 1909.
