Pourtant, il n'avait pas l'air de courir. Meme, il ne semblait pas marcher, tant ses pas faisaient peu de bruit sur le macadam, ou l'on eut dit que ses gros souliers posaient des semelles de feutre. Il glissait plutot, mais a longues enjambees. Cela, d'ailleurs, sans se forcer, naturellement.
