Publisher's Synopsis
An account of the author's attempts to discover the "real" Lord Byron by tracing the poet's footsteps across Europe. He follows Byron's progress through his first journeys from 1809 to 1811 from Iberia to the Turkish Empire and then meets him again in Brussels at the start of his "exile" in 1816.;This new approach places Byron on location and aims to see through the dull reverence often paid to the poet by his admirers, by searching for his genius in his own footsteps.
