Publisher's Synopsis
The excerpts presented here, taken from the author's field journals, trace the steady development of a somewhat quirky, nature-based worldview. Campfire Philosophy was first published as a slender, staple-stitched chapbook focusing on the direct encounters and subsequent reflections of a relatively young man in the wild. This expanded version includes more mature work that delves deeper into a philosophy drawn from decades of woods wandering and wondering. All of these journal entries were written outdoors during short day hikes, overnighters or extended backcountry excursions.
