Publisher's Synopsis

Carly is almost sixteen, the age when she can go on her rumspringa. Her dream is to find her mother's Englisch family during that year away from her Amish home. When Carly receives an unexpected letter from her father, who has been shunned for marrying an Englischer, she learns that her mother's family lives in Indiana. Now she has a location but must find a way to get there. When she meets a kind Englischer named Josh, he offers to take her. Soon Carly finds herself living with her maternal grandmother, meeting relatives she didn't even know existed, and trying to adapt to the very different lifestyle they all lead. In many ways, the freedom of that lifestyle appeals to her, but memories of her Amish upbringing continue to woo her heart to come back home. When one of her Amish relatives is severely injured in an accident, her decision is made: she will return to the farm and to the people who raised her. Carly's heart is soon torn again when she acknowledges the love she has for a man she's known most of her life but who is forbidden as a possible mate. This man returns her feelings but knows their love can never be...or can it? Is it possible that a timely letter with a revelation from the past can change the impossible?
