Publisher's Synopsis
William Yazbec's first novel tells the story of a young writer who has achieved some success in his profession before flying a bit too close to the sun. Blinded by the light he crashes into a mid-life crisis which leads him to return to his roots in the Midwest. There he experiences and reflects upon what has become of his past and how his life could have turned out differently. A mission and a goal given to him by a newly dead friend opens his eyes to the future and a new beginning. The many characters form a rich mosaic of life's emotions and trials and offers hope to GenX for better things to come. William Yazbec has an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Memphis and a Ph.D. in English from Florida State University. He resides in Wisconsin with his wife and son. Yazbec currently teaches at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and Madison College.
