Chela (keela) is a delightful story (with pictures) about a youngster and her sailor grandfather. On a visit to him at the Charleston Marina, where he lives on his boat (Chela), she learns a great deal about marine life and crabbing. They visit the Coast Guard Station, Grandpa's favorite crabbing spot, and a tidal pool. Grandpa teaches her how to crab as they enjoy each other and the great outdoors. At the end of the day, they take crabs back to Chela, where Grandpa shows her how to cook them. He also shares his favorite crab cake recipe.
