A man pushed to his death from a cliff top path in Mallorca, just as he's sending Chief Inspector Macdonald a photo he'd taken with his mobile phone of someone dancing at a village fiesta there, who everyone thought was dead. A photo so damaged in transit it leaves the person in it unrecognisable. The body of a second man, dead from a drug overdose, found in the outhouse of a cottage in Shropshire. A death linked in some way to that of the first. But how? It's said that there might be a third body. That Chief Inspector Macdonald has finally been taken out of the game?
