Publisher's Synopsis
Thobela "Tiny" Mpayipheli is a former freedom fighter struggling to fit back into society in post-apartheid South Africa. After his son is killed in an armed robbery at a petrol station and he sees the killers walk free, he decides to administer his own brand of justice by hunting down and executing child abusers and child murderers. Bennie Griessel is the detective assigned to stop Tiny's vigilantism, but when Griessel's own daughter is kidnapped by the vengeful associate of an "executed" child rapist, Griessel begins to question his own faith in the law. Will he hand Tiny over to the kidnapper? Or is there a way out for all of them?
A brilliantly suspenseful novel, and a searing portrait of modern South Africa, in which sometimes only hope and humanity can fight the cruellest crimes.
