Publisher's Synopsis
I went regularly to my doctor in Michigan for pap smears and each time, while waiting in his reception area, I would look at other women around me wondering if they were there for the same purpose and what determines who came out of the doctor's office with a clean bill of health and who would have that deadly disease.I remember thinking about how my life could be completely changed in just a few minutes - with a fateful diagnosis. Each year I had been one of the fortunate ones. But, I never sat in the doctor's office waiting for my turn without thinking the same thoughts and feelings, the same feelings each time I went, well, now I thought - this is my turn. Something is wrong with this pap smear.
