Publisher's Synopsis

The "Dictionary of Inorganic Compounds" is conceived as a continually updated information system on all the most important inorganic chemical substances. Each year a supplementary volume to the first five volumes is issued which brings the whole publication completely up-to-date. Volume 7 lists approximately 1,000 entries including both new compounds and new data on compounds already listed in Volumes 1-5, with literature coverage up to mid 1993. Thus, the complete set of the Dictionary is extended to approximately 46,000 compounds in 23,800 entries. The new information on compounds appearing in Volumes 1-5 makes Volume 7 essential to keep abreast of new product development. Coverage of coordination compounds, laboratory chemicals such as solvents and reagents, bioinorganic compounds and other compounds of particular physical, chemical, structural or biological interest is increased. Each supplement contains Name, CAS Registry Number and Element Indexes, as in Volumes 1-5, but the Structural Type Index is held over until until Volume 10. The Indexes in Volume 7 and subsequent supplementary volumes are cumulative, allowing access to the entries in all the supplements from just the indexes in the latest one. This book should be of interest to scientists from all disciplines including inorganic, organic and coordination chemists, materials chemists, biochemists, mineralogists and metallurgists.
