Publisher's Synopsis
Former director of television adverts, Ridley Scott's first feature film is based on Joseph Conrad's story which revolves around a series of duels, set during Napoleon's France. Harvey Keitel and Keith Carradine play two officers in Napoleon's army who spend nearly 16 years challenging each other to bloody duels with neither man willing to call a truce. However, one of them has to get the upper hand at some point. The film won the Best First Film award at the Cannes Film Festival and is remembered mainly for the cinematography of Frank Tidy.
