Throughout history, there have been many attempts at a utopia but none succeeded for long. Problematic human nature coupled with limited knowledge have always taken down the best designed utopias. Made possible by AI and a database of all human knowledge, a new frontier including other planets is within reach. Would this not represent the ultimate opportunity for new designs, experimental settlements, and a clean, new chance for humanity ?
Thus, the ENATAU emerged, fueled by today's ubiquitous communication capability and access to world knowledge electronically in a matter of seconds. Never before in history has the entire population of earth been able to communicate, learn, and advance together. All it took was a person with vision and a modest discovery provided the chance to explore out-of-the-ordinary sciences in new and fantastic ways. He was quickly joined by friends and colleagues. Work in basements, garages, and old warehouses grew into a distributed set of "skunk works" and allowed the ENATAU to establish off-world labs and research centers, all in secret. As their numbers grew, they were able to experiment and develop new forms of government and society, further releasing their members for even greater creativity. Book 1 - The Invitation, starts out in a time when the ENATAU are well established and operating on their own, growing quickly and needing to fill out their ranks.
