Rick Gutierrez is the Cat King of Havana! Actually, he is not really a king; he is always holed up inside posting cat videos online. That does not make him very appealing to his girlfriend. He knows he has to change so he enrolls in a salsa class. Ana Cabrera is charming, nice, and a great dancer. Even though Rick is half Cuban, he can't dance to save his life. Desperate to impress Ana, he invites her to spend the summer in Havana. In Cuba, though, not everything is sun and fun. The island has a dark side. Rick, Ana, and Rick's family investigate why his mother left decades ago. In doing so, they learn that politics affect everyone and love, like roses, has thorns.
