Publisher's Synopsis
Modeling and Simulation is a discipline for developing a level of understanding of the interaction of the parts of a system, and of the system as a whole. The level of understanding which may be developed via this discipline is seldom achievable via any other discipline. Neural network simulations appear to be a recent development. However, this field was established before the advent of computers, and has survived at least one major setback and several eras. The thermodynamic state of a thermodynamic system is its internal state as specified by its state variables. In addition to the state variables, a thermodynamic account also requires a special kind of quantity called a state function, which is a function of the defining state variables. The chemical process industry faces serious problems with regard to new materials and efficient methods of production due to increasing costs of energy, stringent environmental regulations and global competition. Chemical engineering disciplines such as intermediates and dyes, food and fermentation and oils surfactants and oleo chemicals, paints and polymer, pharmaceutical technology and pharmacy and fibers and textile processing. This book is prepared to serve as a data for the engineering students for the courses in Thermodynamics, Thermal Engineering, Refrigeration, Reaction, System Modelling, Solar Energy, Heat and Mass Transfer, Energy systems and Non-Conventional Energy sources at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The book gives a systematic presentation of the basic principles and applications of chemical engineering.
