The sermons contained in this volume have all been preached in the course of the writer's ordin ary ministry, and, with one or two exceptions, during the last twelve months. They have been re-written from the original notes, but both in form and substance they remain practically the same as when first delivered.
In making this selection for the press, the aim of the writer has been to illustrate and emphasize the truth suggested by the title of the book. If he has succeeded in this, he will be the more readily pardoned the occasional repetition of ideas, which is the almost inevitable consequence.
