Publisher's Synopsis
This map of France is derived from the Bartholomew 1:1,000,000 European digital database. All data is and revised on a regular basis. It aims to serve as a general reference map for the tourist and traveller.;Layer colours are used to show the height of the land above sea-level; they are broken into nine different categories ranging from land below sea-level to that above 3000 metres. All major summits are located, named, and the height stated in metres.;The island of Corsica is included as an inset at the same scale as the main map.;Roads are classified and broken down into four different types. Other transport information covers railways (high-speed and other types), including the Channel Tunnel link; main ferry routes; and the location of all international and important local airports. The sizes of cities, towns and villages on the map are based on the most recent census information available.
