Publisher's Synopsis
This text presents an integrated view of all of the latest techniques in functional neuroimaging (MRI, MRS, MSI and MEG), along with the fundamental knowledge of brain metabolism, haemodynamics and physiology. The established technologies for imaging and measuring the brain's properties (CT and MRI, SPECT, PET and EEG) are described, which the neuro-imager must understand in order to embrace the new functional imaging applications of functional imaging techniques. The emphasis is on practical and clinical applications. It also includes a review of the more traditional methods used to gather physiologic and anatomic data on the brain.
