Publisher's Synopsis
Japanese action fantasy based on the folk legend of Goemon Ishikawa, the Robin Hood-esque, 16th-century, ninja bandit who stole from the rich to give to the poor. When warlord Oda Nobunaga (Hashinosuke Nakamura) dies, Goemon (Yosuke Eguchi) discovers that he was cruelly betrayed by his seemingly loyal right-hand man, Toyotomi Hideyoshi (Eiji Okuda), who takes over Nobunaga's reign and goes on to complete his long-held dream of unifying Japan under one ruler. As the gap between rich and poor widens under Toyotomi's despotic rule, Goemon takes it upon himself to redistribute the country's wealth to the lower classes. When he steals a mysterious carved box from a secret grave and gives it away to a homeless boy, Goemon finds himself pursued by all factions as it emerges that the box holds the key to untold power and is crucial to the nation's future.
