Vimy Ridge Battle, April 1917: Percival Twidale, a soldier in the First Canadian Division, was in the first group to go over the trenches and charge up the ridge. Four hours later his division achieved their objective. Though wounded, Percy managed to escort several German prisoners down the ridge to the base head- quarters before he was sent to the hospital. He survived his injury and returned to Canada. He died at age 93 in Victoria, British Columbia. This is an account of a Canadian battle to win Vimy Ridge during WWI.
