Publisher's Synopsis
Harry is one of the last of his kind to exist, a mastodon living in the southeastern United States 10,000 years ago. He becomes separated from his family and goes on an adventure to find them. He meets little creatures that help him along the way. Even though he does not find his family, in the end he is adopted by another family group. This story is about adoption, being yourself, never giving up and finding a place to belong. The story is rich with geographical terms and historical information that can be used to enhance education about waterways, living and extinct animals, different habitats and inhabitants of our area in ancient times. A great book to kickoff a study about paleoindians or extinct animals!
