Publisher's Synopsis

The issues Tai Chi teachers discuss among themselves. What are the healing mechanisms behind the movements? How to develop internal energy (chi) in the students. How to eliminate trauma, pain, tiredness, poor posture and poor health in the students. "Heal Yourself and the World with Tai Chi" uses clear, simple English to reveal the meaning of ancient Tai Chi texts that teach you how to bring power and joy back into your life. It is a unique, powerful, even poetic presentation. It delves into Qigong, form practice, push hands and sparring that put the practice of Tai Chi in a whole new light. Beginners to advanced teachers will find themselves running for their highlighters only to find they are highlighting almost every paragraph. This book gives you the "why" behind all the principles of Tai Chi.
Bob Klein studied Tai Chi with Grandmaster William C. C. Chen mostly in the 1970's and 1980's and has been teaching for over 45 years. He is the author of two other books on Tai Chi and has produced over 40 instructional DVDs on Tai Chi. He is one of the founding members of the "Tai Chi Farm", an international gathering of Tai Chi teachers, where he presented workshops on traditional Tai Chi principles. He now hosts three "Tai Chi Teachers Meetings" per month online where Tai Chi teachers can discuss their views on the principles and the teaching process. He was also a zoologist for 20 years, studying the movements and behaviors of wild animals, which helped him gain insight into Tai Chi movements, which are derived from the movements of animals. Mr. Klein is one of the world's best-known Tai Chi teachers.
