Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Huxter Puck, and Other Poems
This volume contains nearly all the poems of my school days that were left out of Hallowe'en and Other Poems. It was the intention to publish this work first, but on account of a difficulty with theprin ter to whom the work was let, it was necessarily de layed. There is little need of any Preface to the first parts, for to many of the pieces I have appended notes which take its place. Most of the pieces are more local than those contained in my previous publications. In many-oi them are allusions to places, persons and incidents of our own county and state. I do not think this can detract aught from the general interest.
