Publisher's Synopsis
This book provides a comprehensive review of information and interventions available in drug misuse to inform local drug policies. In keeping with the policy documents in both Scotland and England, the volume will cover the breadth of possible intervention, rather than health care alone. Each chapter dealing with interventions reviews the evidence of effectiveness of competing methods and uses a standard method to indicate the strength of evidence, thereby making comparisons very easy. Although there are specialist textbooks on all aspects of addiction this is the first book to bring together information in the framework used in the new policy documents in the UK.
