Publisher's Synopsis
Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) are profoundly different in terms of ontology and epistemology, to the diverse worlds of the arts and humanities. So significant are the differences, that when people start talking (primarily) about the integration of the arts into STEM, it is necessary to critically examine and question that which is claimed to result: STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics). This is what Integrating the Arts and Humanities into STEM does. The result is a book that reveals many false truth claims and myths, as well as deep misunderstandings founded in ignorance of the fundamental ontological and epistemological differences among disciplines.
