His parents, Elaine and John Jefferson, were both basketball stars in high school, with John continuing his career in college at Louisiana-Monroe. Elaine gave birth to three boys, and Justin was the youngest of the trio. Jefferson's older brothers, Jordan and Rickey, were also thrust into athletics at a young age.
