Publisher's Synopsis
LLOYD..... A very adult tale indeed
MISADVENTURES OF A MALADJUSTED MIDDLE-AGED MALE
BY MILDRED BERTRAM
Definitely not for the faint hearted or prudish!
Would you be an absolute darling and read my naughty, naughty little novel? It's an easily read, light, humorous and trivial 300 pages chock full of sex and totally lacking political correctness. Yes, I know it's more than just a little risqué, but it is all done in the best possible taste.
Set in Lincolnshire England during the early 1990's, the story is about Lloyd, a widower who wakes abruptly one morning to the realisation that he is in urgent need of an income, and he is also in dire need of a little female company, (if you know what I mean) but certainly not on any permanent basis. So, he sets off to try and achieve both a sex life and a source of income.
With nothing to lose, Lloyd sets out on a new venture. It was along an unrefined, unrestricted and bawdy route but after three false starts, a chance meeting, a case of mistaken identity, and a little help from "Mary, the unwary sugar plum fairy" he achieves his goal. He makes his escape from poverty through glamour photography to national T.V. personality. A huge change occurring in a hilarious whirlwind of just seven days.
Most books these days seem to be so serious, so profound, so highbrow. I ask myself, is Lloyd far too trivial? It was written to entertain rather than educate. Then it occurred to me that the reading public may be crying out for an uncomplicated read, an antidote to the post Co-vid blues and all the economic uncertainties we are all experiencing.
I am sure you will just adore my little book; it should sell hundreds of copies but if you just buy one, I will love you forever!
