Publisher's Synopsis
A four-volume set of US feature comedies. In 'Like Mike' (2002) Calvin (Lil' Bow Wow) lives in an orphanage and desperately dreams of being adopted by a real family. When he discovers a pair of magical sneakers another of his dreams comes true; the sneakers lead to him being discovered by the trainer of an all-star team, which he begins to play for. But the headmaster of the orphanage, Bittleman (Crispin Glover), is trying to stop him from playing. Can Calvin and his friends defeat Bittleman? In the sequel, 'Like Mike 2' (2006), a young boy named Jerome (Jascha Washington), who has always dreamed of growing up to become a star basketball player, finds a magical pair of Michael Jordan's shoes, and is amazed to find that when he puts them on he can suddenly play basketball like one of the greatest players in the world. In 'Rebound' (2005) basketball coach Roy (Martin Lawrence) was once college basketball's top mastermind. But lately his attentions have been on his next endorsements, not on his next game. What's more, Roy has quite a temper, leading to his being banned from college ball until he can 'demonstrate compliance' - in other words, not explode every time he walks onto the court. Enter the Smelters: a wise-cracking junior high squad that's never won a game. Reluctantly taking on the team of hapless hoopsters, Roy uses his coaching magic to teach the kids the importance of dedication and teamwork on the road to the championship. Roy finds new love along the way and rediscovers his first true love - basketball. In 'Meet Dave' (2008) Eddie Murphy stars as Dave Ming Chang, a peculiar man who has recently arrived in New York City. On the outside Dave appears very out of place and uncomfortable in his own body. The reason for this is that 'Dave' is not a man at all; he's a human spaceship modelled on the image of the ship's miniature-sized captain. The captain's crew of humanoid aliens have boarded the vessel in an attempt to save their home planet. Unfortunately, their mission is put on hold when the ship becomes smitten with a beautiful Earth woman called Gina (Elizabeth Banks).
