Publisher's Synopsis
The werewolf - or lycanthrope - is a figure of mere folklore, a fairy tale to frighten children, a monster of midnight cinema to make girls scream and cling to their dates. Transformation from man into animal, you tell yourselves, is simply not possible. It defies the laws of science, biology, chemistry, and physics. According to your theologians it also defies the laws of God, who made man in his own image and all the beasts to serve him. Belief in our literal existence is at best superstition, you tell yourselves, and at worst the clinical delusion of the psychopath.
Yet we are real, our numbers are growing, and a red moon is rising. It is coming; the Wolf Age. You cannot admit to this reality because you cannot accept that humans are the lesser animal; the herd on which we feed. Do not attempt to impose rhyme and reason. Stop trying to explain away the mysteries of life - and death - in terms of a sickness of the senses. There is nothing to understand except the hunger, and we are all so hungry.
