Krinneth lay dying in a field medical tent after a fierce battle. Even so, he was granted a holding and the king's youngest daughter. Not willing to let go of her husband to be so easily, magical help was sought. A bargain was struck. And now Krinneth must spend nine years in Faerie, a strange land where Elves, Goblins and even stranger creatures dwell.
Over the next nine long years Krinneth is sent on quests as set forth by the King of the Faerie, fighting for a kingdom that he isn't truly a part of. Every three years, Krinneth is allowed to visit his home so that his people know that he has not come to harm and so he can be reunited with his betrothed.
But will she wait? With the changes growing in Krinneth, will he be allowed to return once these nine years are up?
